The Scottish Rugby Union have confirmed that Scotland international Tom Philip has been cleared after his citing to the RBS 6 Nations disciplinary committee.

The Scottish Rugby Union have confirmed that Scotland international Tom Philip has been cleared after his citing to the RBS 6 Nations disciplinary committee.

The centre was called before the panel following a high tackle on Brian O’Driscoll in the defeat by Ireland at Lansdowne Road on Saturday.

But the committee have officially announced their decision to clear Philip of the charge.

An SRU spokesman said: “We are pleased with the outcome of the Six Nations Disciplinary Committee and their decision to clear Scotland centre Tom Philip following his citing in the RBS 6 Nations Championship match against Ireland.

“Tom is now available for selection with immediate effect for his club Edinburgh Rugby.”

Philip is not part of the Gunners’ team for the Celtic League clash with Gwent Dragons tomorrow but is set to play in the Heineken Cup quarter-final against Toulouse next weekend.
