Traffic flows on the M50 motorway in Dublin are getting back to normal following a crash this morning that caused tailbacks of several kilometres.

Six cars and a motorbike were involved in a pile-up near Lucan at around 6.30am.

No serious injuries were reported, but the crash completely blocked the southbound carriageway.

The northbound carriageway was also reduced to just one lane to allow the emergency services attend the scene, while knock-on delays were experienced on commuter routes connecting with the M50.
