Gardaí are today appealing for witnesses after a car was hijacked in Naas, Co Kildare yesterday.

Gardaí are today appealing for witnesses after a car was hijacked in Naas, Co Kildare yesterday.

The driver of a black Range Rover 4x4 was stopped by three raiders - armed with a gun - at Eadestown at around 6pm. The driver was ordered to get out of the car.

The thieves then drove towards Rathmore. The vehicle was later recovered by Gardaí at Abbeywood Court, in Lucan, Co Dublin.

Prior to this hijacking, a red VW Golf - registration 08-LS - was stolen at around 4pm from the GAA grounds in Durrow, Co Laois.

The raiders used this car to travel to Eadestown Gardaí believe this car may have been involved in a robbery at Graney West, Castledermot, Co Kildare between 5-5.30 pm yesterday evening.
