Winger Eddie Lewis is given a debut having moved from Leeds earlier this week while Andy Griffin and Gary Teale are named in the starting line-up, having begun last weekend’s 4-0 defeat to Tottenham as substitutes.

Centre-back Claude Davis returns to the team after a rib injury as Rob Earnshaw, Dean Leacock and Darren Moore all dropp to the bench with Tyrone Mears failing to recover from a thigh injury.

Birmingham boss Steve Bruce brought goalkeeper Maik Taylor, Cameron Jerome, Gary McSheffrey and Johan Djourou into his starting line-up at the expense of Irish keeper Colin Doyle – who is left out completely – with Sebastian Larsson, Gary O’Connor and Mehdi Nafti step down from the line-up which lost 1-0 to West Ham.
