Well Chief is odds-on to beat Azertyuiop in a fascinating rematch in Saturday’s totescoop6 Game Spirit Chase at Newbury.

Coral make Well Chief an 8-11 chance to gain revenge for a short-head beating in the Tingle Creek Chase at Sandown before Christmas.

The pair finished second and third behind Moscow Flyer, with Azertyuiop just inching it for the runner-up spot.

Azertyuiop has since gone on to finish third in the King George VI Chase, while Well Chief put up a hugely impressive performance last time to win the Victor Chandler Chase under top weight.

The Paul Nicholls-trained Azertyuiop won this race last year before going on to take the Queen Mother Champion Chase at Cheltenham.

Armaturk is also set to tackle the race again, along with Nicholls’ third entry Kadarann, who was third behind Well Chief at Cheltenham.

The Ditcheat trainer said: “The plan is to run all three. I was pleased with the run of Kadarann last time out but they have both got a lot to do to beat Azertyuiop, who is in good form but will improve for the run.”
