John McWeeney was Leinster’s only casualty as he fractured a finger in the act of scoring their solitary try in a narrow defeat to London Irish at Dr Hickey Park tonight.

John McWeeney was Leinster’s only casualty as he fractured a finger in the act of scoring their solitary try in a narrow defeat to London Irish at Dr Hickey Park tonight.

Once the Irish got their handling together they quickly overhauled Christian Warner’s three penalties and another from Andy Dunne.

They assembled a 24-12 lead with tries from Ryan Strudwick, Mike Worsley, Geoff Appleford and James Cockle.
