Michael Kinane will ride French raider Hurricane Run in Saturday’s Emirates Airline Champion Stakes at Newmarket.
With regular partner Kieren Fallon barred from riding in Britain, trainer Andre Fabre had been expected to turn to Christophe Soumillon who rode the horse to win the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes earlier in the year,
However, Fabre is ready to introduce a new partner to his 2005 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe winner.
He told the Racing Post: “Why not Kinane? The reason is I think Kinane will fit the horse.”
Fallon and Soumillon are the only jockeys to have ridden the four-year-old in his 12-race career, which has yielded eight wins and three seconds.
