A roll call of celebrities attended a lavish 50th birthday party for TV and music mogul Simon Cowell.

Around 400 guests including rocker Ozzy Osbourne, singers Myleene Klass and Cheryl Cole arrived at the black-tie bash at exclusive Wrotham Park in Hertfordshire, England last night. It is thought to have cost £1m (€1.1m).

Supermodel Kate Moss reportedly sang a birthday tribute during the after-dinner cabaret, while other performers included Cowell’s proteges Westlife, Il Divo and Leona Lewis.

Among the other guests spotted entering the grounds of the Palladian mansion were supermodel Naomi Campbell, X Factor winner Alexandra Burke, film director Michael Winner, TV presenter Holly Willoughby and chef Gordon Ramsay.

Cowell’s fellow X Factor judge Dannii Minogue, Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden and former Strictly Come Dancing judge Arlene Phillips were also seen.

Cowell’s PR man Max Clifford waved at the crowd of onlookers who assembled at the gates last night in the hope of catching a glimpse of the stars.

Pictures showed a huge marquee had been put up in the grounds of the mansion and attractions reportedly include troupes of dancing girls and a Frank Sinatra-style singer.

One of the main organisers was reputedly Lady Tina Green, wife of retail billionaire Philip Green.

Multi-millionaire Cowell, who turns 50 on Wednesday, is in talks with Green over creating a new global entertainment business.

Wrotham Park, which sits in 300 acres of parkland, bills itself as a private house of “outstanding quality”.

Its website says: “The house is not open to the public and therefore offers clients exclusive and private use for their event.”
