Two changes for Waterford footballers
Cillian O'Keeffe and Paul Whyte have been named in the Waterford attack for tomorrow's All-Ireland SFC second round qualifier against London.
The pair will dovetail with Sean Fleming in the half-forward line. Shane Briggs, who is abroad, and the injured Tommy Prendergast are the players to make way.
Briggs is away on holidays in Australia, so Kieran Connery moves to centre-back with Eamonn Walsh reverting to the left corner back berth.
Veteran forward Gary Hurney is listed at midfield alongside Mick Ahearne, with Brian Phelan stationed at full-forward for the Déise's first Championship outing in five weeks.
They were well beaten by Cork in the Munster semi-final last time out, and head to Ruislip (throw-in 6.30pm) as surprise underdogs.
Bookmakers have installed London, the conquerors of Fermanagh, as 4/6 favourites to secure only their second Championship win since 1977.
Waterford manager John Owens watched his charges take part in two recent challenge matches. They lost to Limerick in Bansha last week but gained a narrow win over Leitrim in Dublin last Sunday.
Waterford have yet to win a qualifier fixture. The Déise and London have one win apiece from their most recent Allianz Football League clashes in 2009 and 2010.
Notably, the Exiles team that beat Fermanagh contains twelve changes to the side that lost in Dungarvan last year.
