Derry win bottom-of-the-table battle

Dublin City 0 Derry City 2

Dublin City 0 Derry City 2

Rock bottom Dublin City look all but doomed after this damaging defeat.

Dublin were a mess from the start with four new signings in a 3-5-2 formation never working.

They fell behind on 17 minutes when Gareth McGlynn’s left wing free-kick was turned into his own net by the unlucky Tony O’Connor.

The second goal came four minutes into the second half.

Peter Hutton stepped over a free-kick 30 yards out and Alan Murphy's fierce low shot deflected off the wall to wrongfoot Robbie Horgan.
