West Ham manager Sam Allardyce made 10 changes for tonight’s Capital One Cup second round tie with Crewe, with captain Kevin Nolan the only player retained from Saturday’s 3-0 defeat to Swansea.
Irish goalkeeper Stephen Henderson, French midfielder Alou Diarra and Mali striker Modibo Maiga were all given their first starts for the club following their summer arrivals.
League One Crewe arrived with three changes from their 5-1 defeat to Brentford, with Harry Bunn, Kelvin Mellor and Max Clayton all given starts at Upton Park.
