Everton sweat on injured duo

Everton have doubts over Alan Stubbs and Duncan Ferguson for their clash with champions Manchester United.

Striker Ferguson was a late withdrawal from Everton’s midweek Cup defeat at Fulham, struggling with neck, foot and groin problems.

Stubbs, an inspiration last weekend in the draw at Liverpool, picked up a heel injury in training and missed the Loftus Road match.

Boss David Moyes was helped by the return from a back injury of David Unsworth in the 2-1 extra time defeat in West London, but knows he needs Ferguson and Stubbs against Sir Alex Ferguson’s men.

Veteran striker Kevin Campbell could also return after missing two games with a back problem. David Weir (knee) and Joseph Yobo (international duty) are still unavailable.

Provisional squad: Martyn, Hibbert, Pistone, Stubbs, Unsworth, Naysmith, Carsley, McFadden, Gravesen, Nyarko, Watson, Kilbane, Radzinski, Ferguson, Jeffers, Rooney, Simonsen, Linderoth, Clarke.
