The International Rugby Board has announced the dates and teams for the first two events of the 2007/08 IRB Sevens World Series.

The series will begin with the Emirates Airline Dubai Sevens on 30 November and 1 December at the Dubai Exiles RFC ground, with the South Africa Sevens a week later at the Outeniqua Park Stadium in George on 7-8 December.

Wales have entered as a core team to feature in every event this season, while the USA make a rare appearance in the two opening tournaments after a strong showing last season.

New Zealand, Fiji, Samoa, South Africa, England, Australia, France, Scotland, Argentina, Canada, Kenya, Tunisia and Zimbabwe will also compete in both events with the Arabian Gulf playing in Dubai and Uganda in George.

“After another record-breaking year in 2006/07 in terms of broadcast and attendance we’re all looking forward to seeing more action, more tries and more new stars burst onto the scene this season,” said IRB Sevens Manager Beth Coalter.
