Fermanagh simply could not live with the rampant Red Hands as they powered their way to a 12 point-success.

Tyrone have now gone four games unbeaten in the competition, with varying degrees of experimentation in each.

In each game, a different Tyrone player has stepped into the scoring spotlight, and this time it was Tommy McGuigan, who steered more than six points in the opening half, the highlight an immaculate double strike from play, one off each foot.

That score made it 0-5 to 0-2 in 15 minutes, after Ciaran Flaherty and Ryan Jones, from a free, had hit the target for the Erne men.

Matthew Keenan landed an excellent long range point for the visitors, for whom Jones was making an impact in midfield, with some valuable work also from Damien Kelly and Tommy McElroy.

However, they had difficulty in containing the movement of the Tyrone attack, particularly McGuigan and his Ardboe clubmate Kyle Coney.

A couple of Peter Harte scores, and strikes from impressive midfielder Aidan Cassidy, O’Neill, Coney and Penrose soon had the Red Hands in a commanding position, with a couple of Jones frees, won through the persistence of former Tyrone player Aidan McCarron, the only Fermanagh response.

It was 0-13 to 0-5 at the break, and four Stephen O’Neill points stretched the Red Hand advantage in the third quarter.

They could have gone further ahead but for a superb save from James McGrath, who pushed a Peter Harte effort onto a post.

Keenan banged over a couple of sublime points for Fermanagh, but each time they were forced to endure another offensive from a Tyrone side that shot just three wides in the entire game.

The Red Hands did get a goal in the 57th minute when McGuigan slotted home a penalty to open out a 14 points lead, after he had been fouled himself by Martin O’Brien.

Martin Penrose didn’t quite manage to repeat his hat-trick heroics of Ballybofey, but he did apply a styling finish to the contest with a couple of well taken scores.

Fermanagh did get some consolation right at the end through Damien Kelly’s late goal, but it was a night to forget for them, and not the ideal preparation for an opening NFL Division Three tie away to Offaly.
